This sector includes jumbo reels produced by the paper mills, which are then transported to the converting departments for transformation into the final product.

Critical points

  • The jumbo reels are extremely large and heavy
  • Stretch film wrapping must cover the entire surface of the reel to protect it from dust and moisture
  • The big reels are handled with special forklifts with grippers, which can damage or tear the package
  • The stretch films used in this type of application have an average thickness of between 30 and 35 µm.

HIPAC solutions

The premium film most commonly used for this type of application is 333 Rigid Power, in thin thicknesses of 15 or 17 µm.

The reels are safe and stable during handling and transportation, while the use of low-thickness films ensures reduced packaging costs.

333 has been specifically formulated to have a high resistance to tearing during handling.
