Protection first.
In this application sector, the loading unit generally consists of coils, sheets or tubes made of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The stretch film has the task of completely covering the wrapped goods, with the aim of protecting the product from external agents and in particular from corrosion. The stability of the load is often entrusted to other packaging such as straps and wooden boxes.
A film to protect against corrosion
Coils, sheets and tubes made of oxidisable metal alloys must be protected during storage and transportation, which can also take place by sea, a particularly aggressive environment for metals. VCI stretch film must guarantee complete coverage of the wrapped goods, together with the highest protection against metal corrosion. In addition, the film must have a very high resistance to tearing and puncture, because it must resist the sharp and pointed edges of the wrapped goods.
